The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica minivan is a family vehicle through and through. The latest evidence? The Pacifica earned the most prestigious safety award in the industry: the Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
To earn this coveted award from the IIHS, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica had to earn a top score of “good” in each of the crash tests: small overlap front (driver-side), small overlap front (passenger side), moderate overlap front, side-impact, roof strength, and head restraints and seats.
In addition, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica underwent testing on its headlights and its Automatic Emergency Braking System. The Automatic Emergency Braking System earned the institute’s highest rating in that area: “superior.” The new Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking System, recently added, earned an “advanced” rating.
“Winning the highest IIHS safety rating of TSP+ distinguishes the Chrysler Pacifica’s superior safety technology and performance,” remarked Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell. “Pacifica is the perfect choice for modern families who are looking for a minivan with the greatest combination of safety, functionality, and value.”
This award is just the latest in a lineup of honors for the Pacifica. Over the last five years, the Chrysler Pacifica has earned 160 honors, more than any other minivan in the industry.
