2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Fuel Economy

The third generation of the game-changing 3.0-liter EcoDiesel turbo V6 has increased horsepower and torque, minimal levels of noise, vibration and harshness, as well as excellent fuel economy. In fact, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel fuel economy numbers have just been published and are looking mighty good.

The turbocharged EcoDiesel delivers an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway on 4×2 models and 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway with 4×4 models.* Not only does the diesel take you far but the available 33-gallon fuel tank lets you go even farther, more than a 1,000 miles. That’s better than any truck in the segment.

Part of this efficiency comes from innovative updates to the EcoDiesel.  Redesigned aluminum-alloy pistons, a new compression ratio, and the introduction of a dual, high-pressure and low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation system (the first diesel in North America to include one) provide the superior fuel range and economy. 80% of full-size trucks in the U.S. are 4×4 models, and the Ram 1500 leads the way with its 29 mpg highway.

The EcoDiesel also helps the Ram lead the half-ton pickup truck segment with the most torque at 480 lb-ft, and the largest diesel towing capability at 12,560 lb. It’s no wonder it’s been the recipient of the Wards 10 Best Engines award for three consecutive years. Learn more about it at Ed Murdock CDJR!
