The 2021 Ford F-150 is spearheading a new movement of pickup power and capability thanks to its PowerBoost® Hybrid powertrain. However, top-notch F-150 bed features also prove that there’s more to the pickup truck than its buzz-worthy engine.
Pro Power Onboard™
Pro Power Onboard™ is essentially an integrated generator that powers the F-150’s in-bed power station. Pro Power Onboard™ is available for both the gas and hybrid models but is most effective with the hybrid, where it can be had with both a 2.4- or 7.2-kilowatt inverter.
With a full tank of fuel and the 7.2-kW upgrade, Pro Power Onboard™ can power a 1,800-watt compound miter saw, a 1000-watt circular saw, a 1,200-watt battery charger, a 1,200-watt hammer drill and a 1,000-watt air compressor for 32 hours with hundreds of watts left over.
Tailgate Work Surface
The bed of the 2021 Ford F-150 will double as a work-station thanks to the Tailgate Work Surface. This is a flat area with integrated rulers, storage for small tools, and a stand to hold a personal device, such as a phone.
The 2021 Ford F-150’s bed will be available in a number of different configurations. Regular and SuperCab models will come with 6.5-foot and 8-foot beds and SuperCrew F-150s will sport 5.5-foot and 6.5-foot beds.
