Summer is the perfect time to take a road trip and explore the great outdoors in your vehicle. It’s also a vital time to perform maintenance and ensure your vehicle is ready for the heat. Follow these tips to give your car the care it deserves this summer.
Check your tires
Thoroughly look at each of your tires to make sure they don’t have any bulges or cuts. After the car has been idle for some time and tires have cooled down, check the tire pressure of every tire. If the tires don’t have the pressure recommended in your owner’s manual, be sure to inflate them accordingly.
Replace your wiper blades
If your wiper blades are not clearing rain off the windshield properly or they’re leaving streaks, these are signs that you need new blades. Whether or not you replace the blades, it’s a good idea to also top off the windshield washer reservoir with fluid that can remove debris and bugs.
Test the AC
Before embarking on a long trip, make sure that your air conditioner is working well, or you may end up driving for hours in a hot car. Blast the air conditioner on a test drive. If it’s not cooling off the car enough, you may need to replace the cabin filter or have repairs to the AC.
